With a voice that seems to echo on air and songs that provide joy steeped in anguish, Sarah Blasko has been a mainstay of the Australian music scene since the release of her debut album 'The Overture and the Underscore' - Beat Magazine

Monash University Performing Arts Centres invites audiences to a very special one-off performance by iconic and beloved Australian musician, Sarah Blasko.

Blasko has reached rarefied status in Australia, from the now-classic debut The Overture & The Underscore (2004) through to the Depth Of Field (2018); her six-album run of genre-defining indie-rock and art-pop is unparalleled. Over the course of her career she has received countless award nominations and has secured 3 ARIA Awards, triple j’s Album Of The Year for ‘As Day Follows Night’ and a Sidney Myer Fellowship.

Blasko was the subject of the ABC commissioned documentary BLASKO and has written music for film, television, theatre (including Bell Shakespeares’s Twelfth Night to be performed at Alexander Theatre on October 3, 2023), and ballet. She has performed with symphony orchestras, string quartets, electronic duos, and makes up one third of the beloved ‘ Seeker Lover Keeper ’ collaboration alongside Sally Seltmann and Holly Throsby.

The Popular Music Songwriting Award 2022 winner, Nichola Ingvarson-Favretto will open for Blasko’s concert along side the 2023 winner who is yet to be announced.
