Expression of Interest: Dorrington Child and Family Hub artwork
The City of Monash is inviting Expressions of Interest from First Nations artists to create 2 artworks for Dorrington Child and Family Hub. One artwork will be displayed in the kindergarten corridor and the other in the sleep and settling service area.
The project includes 2 one-hour, in-person engagement sessions with a council-run dads and father figures playgroup in Chadstone, Victoria. These sessions will be used to inform the final artwork.
The aim of the sessions is to:
- raise awareness of First Nations culture and art by engaging the parents and children at the playgroup in storytelling and conversations.
- discuss what fatherhood means to the playgroup participants. The perspectives should then shape the scope and direction of the final artwork.
The preferred medium is paint on canvas. The project budget is $30,000 excluding GST, for both artworks and engagement sessions.
Submissions close Friday 1 November 2024.
