Asset Protection Final Inspection Check List

Council has compiled a list to help you prior to your final inspection, which is part of the Asset Protection Permit.

If you fail your final inspection, additional inspections may incur an extra fee.

To assist you in ensuring that your final inspection and bond refund is successful on the first inspection, make sure you address these common mistakes:

• Don't leave stones, rubble, concrete or building materials on the nature strip
• Make sure the nature strip has been properly reinstated and the soil in the nature strip is level with the concrete of the footpath, kerb or vehicle crossing
• Don’t leave the nature strip worn or bare requiring top dressing and seeding
• The area between the footpath and your property should be filled level with the footpath
• Footpath bays damaged during the course of the build will need to be reinstated to Council specifications
• Kerb and channel sections damaged during the course of the build will need to be reinstated to council specifications
• Vehicle crossing panels damaged during the course of the build will need to be reinstated to council specifications
• Any storm water or service authority pit lids damaged during the course of the build will need to be reinstated – contact the relative authority to arrange replacement/repair.
• The road surface outside your property damaged during the course of the build will need to be reinstated to council specifications.

Permits may be required for reinstatement of concrete and road works. Check with Council prior to proceeding.
