The Council’s Discretionary Fund provides Council with the ability to approve small discretionary grants to residents and incorporated community groups in response to requests that are received from time to time.
The program recognises small activities and events that deserve support from Council. These programs may arise on an ad-hoc basis, which makes them ineligible for other funding programs, or they do not coincide with the timing of the annual Community Grants Program.
Funding limits
Applications should generally not request funding in excess of $1000.
Exclusions
Applications are not eligible if they have received funding previously from Councils Discretionary Fund in the same financial year or are funded under the Council’s Community Grants Program for the same activity or activity type, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
In addition to meeting the eligibility criteria, applicants who meet regularly in, promote or advertise gaming venues will not be accepted in line with Council’s Public Health Approach to Gambling Harm Policy.
Process
Applications must be:
- Received in writing by Council
- Made using the form available below
- Received at least 3 weeks prior to a Council meeting
If requesting funding for a Council-owned or managed facility, applicants must have a confirmed booking.
