We are inviting Expressions of Interest from First Nations artists to create an artwork for the new Oakleigh South Child and Family Hub. The artwork will be displayed on a wall in the building's foyer to welcome visitors.

The artwork is to be informed by four (4) in-person engagement sessions with kindergarten classes and the girl guides who use the Hub:

  • 3 x kindergarten sessions (30 minutes to 1 hour each)
  • 1 x Oakleigh South Girl Guides session (1 hour during their Monday night meeting).

The aim of the sessions is to engage children in storytelling and conversations about First Nations artwork and culture, which will then shape the scope and theme of the final artwork.

The preferred medium is paint on canvas. The project budget is $18,000 excluding GST.

Submissions close Friday 7 June 2024.
