Energy initiatives at Council facilities

As part of Council's Zero Net Carbon Action Plan, we're undertaking a range of initiatives to transition to more efficient and sustainable forms of energy at our facilities.

Solar energy

Council has installed almost 600kW of solar capacity on key Council buildings. The initiative will harness solar energy as a clean and renewable source of electricity, reducing our carbon footprint and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.

MARC energy sustainability

Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC) is advancing its sustainability efforts by transitioning from 2 gas boilers to 3 heat pumps and 2 condensing gas boilers as part of Council's carbon emission reduction plan.
