Repair Café – a new lease on life!

Bike

Sustainable Monash team partnered with the Brainwave Bikes and Mount Street Neighbourhood House to incorporate basic bicycle repairs at the last Repair Café on Sunday 25 August 2024.

The next Repair Café will take place in December 2024.

Repair Café is a place for residents to have their valued items assessed and repaired by skilled community volunteers, while also learning how to repair items themselves, to extend their overall use and life.

The café brings together the community to give valued items a new lease on life while also diverting them from landfill.

Repair Café is only possible because of our incredible volunteers who give up their valuable time.

Please note: No walk ins. Repairs must be registered. Repair Café will not complete specialised repairs: jewellery, televisions, CD players and DVD players that contain class b lasers, woodworks, refurbishing furniture, and manual clocks. Due to time constraints, we may not be able to spend more than 10 minutes on attempting to open item(s).

Bike repairs include safety check, tune ups, break adjustment, gear adjustment, temporary tube repairs like patches.

Tube replacements can be completed – please be aware that tube replacement can be completed at residents’ cost.  This is not a free service.

Bike repairs do not include part replacements – but advice on price and parts will be included.
