Connection to Country walk
Next date: Sunday, 13 October 2024 | 10:00 AM
to 12:30 PM
Together with Friends of Scotchmans Creek and Valley Reserve, we’ll be holding a Connection to Country Walk, led by Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Ian Hunter.
Sunday 13 October 2024
10am - 12:30pm
Valley Reserve
Waimarie Drive, Mount Waverley
(We meet at the visitor information centre near the playground carpark)
Along the way he’ll share Indigenous history and culture as we walk through the beautiful bushland area around the reserve.
Caring about the environment and community starts with an understanding of the place where we live, its history and stories of Aboriginal culture, land management practices and knowledge systems going back tens of thousands of years.
Book online via Humanitix
Note: The walking component is of moderate difficulty as weather can affect the track.
Bring: water bottle, sturdy walking shoes, dress appropriately for the weather
