Remember to take and drink plenty of water before, during and after exercise, particularly on hot days or when you feel dehydrated.

Walking with someone is safer than walking on your own. Encourage family, friends or a neighbour to join you.

New walkers are advised to consult their doctor should they have any health concerns prior to embarking on a new walking program.

Jells Park

  • Location: Corner Waverley and Jells roads, Wheelers Hill
  • 127ha of parkland featuring wetlands, nature walks, bike paths, playground, and BBQs. An excellent place for long walks, located near Mulgrave Reserve.

Shepherds Bush

  • Location: 95 Shepherds Road, Glen Waverley
  • A natural conservation area, with several nature based trails, located near to Napier Park.

Lum Reserve

  • Location: Lum Road, Wheelers Hill
  • Walking trails through native parkland. Features playground and BBQ. This is a very light and calm walk which only takes about half an hour. For more information, see Lum Reserve.
