Wayfinder

Wayfinder-Gallery-2
An exhilarating explosion of heart from Dancenorth Australia, set to new music by Hiatus Kaiyote.
Wayfinder’s physical exuberance and sonic resonance burst onto stage in a kaleidoscopic fusion of dance, music, and visual art. A sublime new performance that speaks to our sensorial nature, featuring Hiromi Tango’s joyful, heart-expanding stage design and costume. Wayfinder reminds us of a state of being that transcends words that have come to define us; recognising connection as the central axis of the universe.
Directed by Amber Haines and Kyle Page, Dancenorth Australia joins forces with three-time Grammy nominated Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote and sound artist Byron J. Scullin to create a soaring composition evoking pleasure and possibility. An undulating sound sculpture condenses and expands this scintillating score, immersing audiences in a new sonic dimension.
Deeply committed to the creation of adventurous, thoughtfully conceived, and highly acclaimed new work; Dancenorth has presented work in over 45 International Arts Festivals and venues around Australia and the world. With a national reputation for producing works of the highest quality, Dancenorth has received two Helpmann Awards, two Australian Dance Awards, two Green Room Awards, the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Group Award, and the PAC Australia Impact Award.
