Monash University Performing Arts Centres welcomes Vinod Prasanna to the David Li Sound Gallery in the third of six concerts in 2023’s Vibrating Air series.
Born into one of India’s greatest flute-playing families, award-winning bansuri (flute) virtuoso Prasanna shines as an outstanding performer of authentic traditional and contemporary Indian music.
Vinod Prasanna is a performing and recording artist, teacher, craftsman and ambassador of the Bansuri and continues a family legacy that celebrates more than two-and-a-half centuries of Indian music. Prasanna has performed and toured extensively throughout his homeland and overseas, including France, Japan, Germany and Australia. He is a vibrant and well known contributor to the local music scene.
Prasanna’s emotive melodies, exquisite improvisations and divine flute song distinguish his performance of Indian classical and world music, and he brings his unique meditative philosophy to all facets of his craft. He is joined by emerging experimental guitarist Jenna Campbell, forming an exciting collaboration exploring new horizons in improvisational music.
