The Wikimen: Live at The Count's

wiki-squash-1

Marvellous swing, jazz, Hawaiian blues, pop and exotica music for your listening and dancing pleasure.

In The Wikimen’s own words: ‘…(they) fiercely enjoy playing at a volume that encourages intimate conversation on the dance floor as well as the opportunity to encourage the movement of the body in the spirit of grandparents and grandchildren.’

Popular music from the 10’s, 20’s and 30’s comprising of ukulele, double bass, vibraphone, brass, percussion and an all-singing line up, The Wikimen present a unique and lighthearted take on traditional jazz with influences from Hawaiian music and the origins of rhythm and blues.

They’ve featured at events such as Melbourne Festival, Melbourne Film Festival, Spicks and Specs, Mona (Hobart), the Cube (Wodonga), Melbourne Fashion Festival, Brunswick Music Festival, the Village Festival, Melbourne Winter Night Market, Port Fairy Spring Music Festival, and this will be their exciting debut performance at the Count’s!
