Bloody Brilliant...very Melbourne and very magnificent. - Kenny Weir, Sunday Herald Sun. Led by trumpeter and composer Dr. Paul Williamson, Fourward Quartet brings a world class performance of new works written during a cathartic phase of contemplating and processing the old and the new.

Williamson has established a distinguished reputation as a trumpeter and composer by producing distinctive recordings of outstanding ensemble performances.

Over the years he has released fourteen CD’s, and has performed both internationally and nationally with jazz greats including Carla Bley, Charlie Haden, Eddie Palmieri, Linda Oh, Bill Carothers, Dave Liebman, Paul Wertico, Tomasz Stańko, Kenny Werner, John Abercrombie, Hermeto Pascoal, Aaron Goldberg, Django Bates, Vijay Iyer, Mike Nock, Tony Gould, Nasheet Waits and Mark Helias. Williamson can also be found inspiring the next generation at Monash University’s Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance where he is a senior lecturer and Convenor of Jazz and Improvisation studies.
