Monash Santa photo competition terms and conditions

Introduction

1. The Competition is being run by City of Monash (Council). 

2. By participating in the Competition, you (or your parent or guardian) are agreeing to these Competition Terms and Conditions (Terms).  

3. By entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that you are eligible to receive any prize that may be awarded to you. 

4. The Competition is free to enter. 

5. Entries open on 12.00pm on Wednesday 15 November 2023 and close 11.59pm on Sunday 31 December 2023. Entrants must have uploaded their third photo by this time to be eligible. 

Eligibility to Enter 

6. Entrants must be: 

• over 18 years old on the day that the selfie is uploaded; or 
• Over 13 years old, and entering with parental permission; or 
• If under 13 years old, uploading through a parent or guardian account. 

7. All Entrants must use the hashtag #MonashSanta and photos must be taken at the authorised Council selfie pods. Any entries that do not properly include the hashtag or are not taken at the authorised selfie pods will be ineligible. 

8. An Entrant must have entered three photos to be eligible to enter the draw.  

9. Council Councillors, employees and their families are excluded from entering the draw. 

Permission to Use Image

10. By uploading your image using the hashtag #MonashSanta and participating in this Competition, you (and where applicable your parent or guardian) acknowledge that Council may use your image in Council publications, promotions, website, or any other connected purpose. 

The Prize 

11. There is one prize available of a Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre Complete Membership valued to the amount of $1,302.60. Council reserves the right to offer a different prize to the same or similar value if circumstances require.  

12. Entrants are not eligible to win more than one Prize. 

13. The winning Entrant must have complied with these Terms. The winning Entrant will be chosen at random and notified via their Instagram handle through a comment on their post as well as through the Instagram direct messages function. Winners must contact Council within 28 days at by either in person at 293 Springvale Road Glen Waverley, or by calling 03 9518-3674 or by emailing ecodev@monash.vic.gov.au email to accept their Prize. It is incumbent on the Entrant to check their Instagram to ascertain if they are a winner.  

14. The Prize is non-transferrable and non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be provided. 

15. If the Prize is not collected by the winning Entrant, within 28 days, the winner will forfeit their prize and Council may deal with it in any way it sees fit.  

16. Only winners will be contacted.  

Privacy and Data Collection 

17. By participating in the Competition, the Entrant agrees to allow Council to use, store and collect data, including personal information, for the purposes of advertising, implementing and awarding the Prize and any reasonable related ancillary purposes. The Entrant also agrees to allow Council to contact them in the ways outlined.  

General 

18.By participating in the Competition, the Entrant accepts any and all risks associated with their participation and agrees to hold Council harmless in regard to any harm that may occur. 

19. The Council does not have any affiliation with, nor is it endorsing any of the brands related to the Prize. 

20. Council may amend these Terms at any time, without notice. 

21. Council’s decisions in relation to the Competition, the Prize or these terms is final and binding. Council will not enter into any correspondence regarding its decision.  

22. These laws of Victoria apply to these Terms.
