Luke Howard is an Australian composer and pianist whose albums have frequently made the Australian Music Prize long list. In 2022 he released All of Us, an album inspired by Albert Camus’ The Plague and written during Melbourne’s long lockdown. Howard has worked with choreographer Juliano Nunes on works for the Birmingham Royal Ballet, Royal Ballet, Atlanta and Philadelphia Ballet.

The Luke Howard Trio’s minimalist aesthetic blends elements of improvised and popular music, featuring compositions by both Howard and bassist Jonathan Zion. In 2019 they were commissioned to compose the music for the award-winning theatre company Back To Back Theatre’s production The Shadow.

The trio also has a bi-monthly residency at the Jazz Lab in Melbourne. Luke will be performing one solo piano set, before being joined by his Trio for a second set. Luke Howard – Piano Jonathon Zion – Double Bass Daniel Farrugia – Drums
