EXTASY MORRICONE: Live at The Count's
EXTASY MORRICONE celebrates the jazz-influenced, psychedelic, progressive and adventurous side of Ennio Morricone's film music from the late 60s to the early 80s through a collection of vocal songs with unexpected and mesmerising lyrics by some of Italy’s finest vocalists - a show for music and cinephiles alike!
Ennio Morricone is acclaimed as one of the most innovative composers of the twentieth century. He composed music that was commercially accessible to a universal audience without renouncing his experimental or contemporary compositional techniques. His unconventional instrumentation and the use of the human voice as a melodic instrument are integral to his unrelenting determination to find a unique sound for each score.
EXTASY MORRICONE is a celebration of his quest for uniqueness.
Recipient of the 2021 ABC Classical and Jazz Composer and Commissioning fund, Tuscan-born Ilaria Crociani leads her stunning band through a captivating program of Morricone’s collection of songs sung by the great Alberto Bevilacqua, Carlo Nistri, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi, Carlo Carunchio, Luciano Lucignani, and Maria Travia.
