Get ready for a Clayton Festival Extravaganza!

Clayton Festival is a FREE community festival for families and kids featuring live entertainment, creative activities, food trucks and roving performers.

The festival is held in the heart of Clayton business district, within the car park of Clayton Community Centre and Clayton Aquatic and Health Club.

Clayton Festival reflects our vibrant and diverse community, and we welcome everyone to join us for an exciting day in Clayton!

Festival Activities

There will be lots of FREE family-friendly activities including roving entertainment, kids’ art and craft, music, dancing, face painting as well as our Aussie reptiles and a photo booth! 

Clayton Aquatic and Health Club will offer FREE pool entry between 1pm - 5pm. 

There will be several community and Council stalls showcasing just a snapshot of the amazing services and supports available right across Monash.

Our team at Monash Libraries will be hosting a range of activities on the day, including a giant book sale (adult, junior and some non-English collections), a free community art project using recycled materials, and a scavenger hunt. No bookings required!
Clayton Library will also be open on the day from 12pm-5pm. 

FREE live Dora performances

Thanks to our major partner Suburban Rail Loop, this year’s festival will feature 2 exciting days of live Dora performances at Clayton Theatrette!

During the 20-minute live stage show, you’ll meet Dora along with The Adventure Host who will guide you through all the fun.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen, hat, and water bottle which can be refilled at on site water fountains.

Don’t forget your swimmers to ‘cool down’.

Clayton Aquatic and Health Club is offering FREE pool entry between 1pm - 5pm. 

Getting to the event

Public transport is recommended with Clayton Railway Station located around 300m (or less than 5 minutes' walk) from Cooke Street, Clayton.

There are also several busses which travel to the Clayton SC/Clayton Road bus stop including: 631, 703, 704, 733, 824. Go to www.ptv.vic.gov.au to plan your journey.

There is limited street parking available between Cooke Street and Clayton Road during the festival.

If driving, please observe traffic management controls and standard parking restrictions.

Event accessibility

The event site is designed to be inclusive and accommodating for all individuals and all abilities

The following accessible features and services are available at the event:

  • Smooth and accessible pathways for entry and navigation within the event site
  • Designated accessible parking spaces.
  • Drinking taps that are conveniently placed and meet accessibility standards.
  • Several accessible toilets, as well as a permanent changing places space onsite.
  • Changing facilities available onsite either outside or inside Council buildings.
  • Noise-cancelling headphones available to hire for free with exchange of ID details.
  • Wayfinding signage throughout the event.
  • Variety of limited seating options.

All temporary structures will adhere to Monash Council's accessibility requirements.

Get ready for an unforgettable day of fun and creativity with our amazing activations and workshops! Dive into the magical world of Playable Streets - Plants, where nature meets play.

Unleash your inner artist at the Monster Mould and Sand Art workshops or get up close and personal with nature at Wildlife Exposure.

Feel the beat with Rhythm Unites – Instruments and let your imagination soar in the Fairy Grotto – Storytelling.

Enjoy the whimsical Wandering Entertainment – Circus Play, hop on the Fun Bus, and sparkle at the Glitter Station.

Don’t forget to get a beautiful Henna design or a fun Face Painting.

And finally, be sure to check out the stunning Playable Streets art installation.

Watch in awe as Stilt walkers tower above the crowd and Hula Hoopers spin their way into your hearts.

Be mesmerized by the skillful Jugglers and the enchanting Hedges.

Indulge your sweet tooth with the delightful Lollylady, and enjoy captivating performances by the Players Theatre Company.

Experience the grace of Traditional dances and Tai Chi, and be transported to Indonesia with the vibrant West Sumatran dance.

Don’t miss the talented Madi Walker and the energetic local talent from the Youth Team, duo Reachell Hernandez & Kylie Foreman, Isharna Duncan and The Gurus.

Food and drinks

There will be a variety of snacks, deserts, and hot food at the event with a variety for all choices and health requirements. Green My Plate will be onsite to ensure we recycle as best as possible.

Savor the delightful offerings from Pettinella and indulge in the mouthwatering flavours of I Love Dumplings.

Enjoy the unique and tasty Kimono Crepes and cool down with a sweet treat from Mr Wonder Whip.

Don’t miss the crispy goodness of Oz Waffle and the fun, flavourful bites from Potato Ninja.

Experience the culinary magic of Kin & Gin and grab a perfect cup of coffee from Here or There Coffee. It’s a feast of flavours you won’t want to miss! And our local Lions Club Waverley with snags for all.

Clayton Festival is located close to Clayton Road, the mecca of Clayton’s authentic restaurants and bars. Following the festival, it is a great opportunity for families and friends to head over to Clayton Road for dinner at one of many delicious local restaurants.
