An evening of boundary pushing pop-opera perfection with singer-songwriter – and Eurovision Song Competition finalist – Kate Miller-Heidke.

For one night only, extraordinary Australian talent Kate Miller-Heidke visits the Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts to present works from her latest album Child In Reverse, as well as classics from her five top 10 studio albums including O Vertigo!, Nightflight, and Curiouser.
Kate’s work traverses the worlds of contemporary pop, folk, musical theatre and opera. She has performed at Coachella, with the New York Metropolitan Opera, and in 2019, she represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest. Her heartfelt performance and the out-of-this world staging of her original song Zero Gravity won her first place in her semi-final and a top ten placing at the Eurovision Grand Final.
With her collaborator Keir Nuttall, Kate wrote the music and lyrics to Muriel’s Wedding: The Musical (2019) – which went on to win five Helpmann Awards, including Best Original Score – and also composed music for Twelfth Night (2018) and As You Like It (2021).
Her multi-platinum hit The Last Day On Earth reached No. 3 on the ARIA Singles Chart, and she received the grand prize at the 2008 International Songwriting Competition for her single Caught In The Crowd.
“Indie-pop for adults … smart, challenging and mature pop music.” – Rolling Stone
Kate Miller-Heidke is presented at Monash University as part of the Jeanne Pratt Artists in Residence Program, supported by The Pratt Foundation and Dr Jeanne Pratt AC.
