Why should big kids get all the fun!?

Kelly Mini Sports aims to teach toddlers and preschoolers the fundamental skills of basketball, cricket, footy, soccer, tennis and rugby. Their dedicated team of coaches is trained to instruct children in a friendly yet professional manner, while teaching parents and carers how to continue their sporting and dance education at home.

TeenFit Class

Calling all teens aged 12 and over!

Join us for a class designed with cardio and body-weight exercises which increase fitness, strength and endurance.

With the ability to try your first class FREE, our qualified trainers will deliver you a safe and fun program that is also a great introduction to the gym. Participation will also help to create healthy habits that set up a life-long love of exercise and movement.

Active Kids

A children’s fitness class (primary school-aged 6+) that focuses on developing fundamental motor skills in a fun-filled environment!

This class will get all children moving and making friends, including ball skills, running, jumping, body-weight exercises and more. We aim to make exercise fun and create healthy habits that help set up an active life.

Walking Netball

Join for low impact, social and fun way to improve the levels of physical activity for all ages, genders, and abilities.

The program provides optimal health benefits to all who participate, including those who might be intimidated by the pace and impact of a traditional netball game but love the slower more social version of Walking Netball.

Following the session, participants are invited to socialise with free coffee and morning tea provided by Waverley Netball Centre.  When: Every Tuesday morning .

Active Abilities Small Group Training

A friendly class specifically designed for those with a disability to help individuals move and exercise in a safe and fun environment.

Our new circuit classes held in our new low-sensory studio at Oakleigh Recreation Centre are to be enjoyed by those living with a disability aged 16+.

These new classes offer numerous benefits with a focus on cardio, strength and balance training

Dementia Friendly Group Class

A friendly class specifically designed for those with early-stage dementia to help individuals move and exercise in a safe and fun environment.

Led by experienced and qualified group exercise instructors, this class is engaging and fun. The class will work on improving functional strength, flexibility and cognitive stimulation.

Exercising helps to prevent falls and maintains healthy mind, body and spirit. Other positive effects include improved mood, sleep and quality of life.

Glen Waverley Pickleball

Come and try your hand at one of the most rapidly growing sports in Australia.

Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton and table tennis and Glen Waverley Bowls Club are now offering social play, court hire, and membership options.

No prior playing experience is needed, beginners welcome. All equipment will be provided by the club.

Sports Locker

Open the locker and get active!

Borrow sports equipment for FREE from Oakleigh, Mugrave and Glen Waverley libraries to use at nearby sports facilities.

Equipment available to borrow

  • Oakleigh Library: soccer balls, AFL (Australian Rules) balls and frisbees
  • Mulgrave Library: soccer balls, basketballs, AFL (Australian Rules) balls and frisbees
  • Glen Waverley Library: table tennis (bats and balls)

Borrowing time: 4-hour limit

How to borrow: Simply leave a form of ID with the library branch, that you can collect when the equipment is returned and sanitised with wipes (provided). You'll also need to sign an agreement. Being a library member isn’t essential.

The Sports Locker program is available during library branch operating hours: Oakleigh LibraryMulgrave Library and Glen Waverley Library.

This program provides an opportunity for local families to ‘Participate Their Way’ by removing the cost of club membership, registration fees, uniforms and equipment, and utilising the libraries' systems to hire out sports equipment within Oakleigh, Mulgrave and Glen Waverley local areas.

Roaming Fitness Camp

Join us for an on-off roaming Fitness Camp session, showcasing different reserves and spaces around Monash.

Our next activation will take place at Galbally Reserve Fitness Hub. Enjoy the outdoors and experience a new Monash reserve.

This session will work through a guided movement bodyweight outdoor gym circuit at your own pace.
