Fire Services Property Levy
A Fire Services Property Levy is included in the rates notices of all Victorians.
The State Government first introduced the levy in 2013. The levy is used to help fund Victoria's fire and emergency services. It replaces the fire services levy charged by insurance companies in home insurance premiums.
Council has no role to play in the setting of this levy and does not receive any revenue collected as a result of the levy.
People who receive a Pensioner Rebate on their rates receive a $50 concession on their Fire Services Property Levy.
More information is available on the State Government's Fire Services Levy website or contact the State Revenue Office on 13 21 61.
