Neighbourhood Watch Monash
Neighbourhood Watch Monash is a group of dedicated volunteers working together to make our community safer.
Neighbourhood Watch Monash (NHW Monash) members work with Council and Victoria Police to:
- Promote safety at home and in public places
- Reduce preventable crime
- Coordinate community projects and programs, and encourage community participation
- Build strong partnerships across Council, police and community to improve community safety
- Raise awareness of incidents that affect the community and encourage the reporting of suspicious behaviour.

Safe Plate Days
Council partners with Neighbourhood Watch Monash for the Safe Plate program to help residents protect their cars and vehicles.
Safe Plate Days are usually held twice a year. On the day, Neighbourhood Watch Monash volunteers replace regular number plate screws with special security one-way screws. These make it harder for number plates to be stolen.
Stolen plates can be used for toll evasion, petrol theft, drive offs and other more serious criminal activities.
Our most recent Safe Plate Day in April 2024 was one of our most attended yet!
