Cactus and Succulent Society of Australia Inc

The Cactus and Succulent Society of Australia Inc (CSSA) is the oldest cactus and succulent society in Australia, established in Melbourne in 1927.

Our Society is a fun and friendly organisation that prides itself on having members from all walks of life and of all ages, whether you are a botanist or home gardener. We have a lot to offer.

Paid CSSA members get access to our Monthly Gatherings (at the hall or via Zoom), our quarterly magazine The Spine, two members-only FB groups (one for discussion and another for sales/freebies/swaps), exclusive bus trips, discounts at several Melbourne based nurseries and more.

The Monthly Gatherings of the Society feature presentations (habitat, cultivation, show and tell of member collections etc.), plant sales, free cuttings, plant of the month (with prizes) and a plant auction. We regularly have over 70 people show up for an informative evening.

The Monthly Gatherings are scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of every month (except December), with the hall opening at 7:00 PM, Zoom meeting room opening at 7.30 pm and the meeting starting at 8.00 pm. More information about what is on each month can be found on our website or Facebook page.

Guests/Visitors are welcome to join our Monthly Gatherings either at the hall or via Zoom for up to three occasions, after this time we ask you to become a Member. More information about Membership is available on our Website. Membership costs as little as $20 a year ($15 concession holders), with the Membership year commencing on the 1st March.
