2024 Volunteer of the Year

Donna Taylor

In her volunteer work with Spotlight, Donna teaches crocheting, knitting and sewing. Those that she works with are often isolated - single mums or people from non-English speaking backgrounds – and they come to Donna wanting help to finish a jumper or wanting to learn how to crochet or wanting to improve their spoken English.

Donna is also involved in several community services, including Community Lunch/School Breakfast Program at Brentwood Secondary College; Christmas Cheer, providing food and toys; and bread pickup from local bakeries.

One of her most notable contributions is through Café Care - where attendees often face significant life issues - and Donna goes above and beyond to support them.
