Jeff Hocking

Jeff’s dedication to the Essex Heights Tennis Club in Mount Waverley is the reason for this award. He’s been involved in tennis in Monash since he was 12 and is passionate about the sport!

Among many roles over the years, he’s been club secretary since 2016, undertaking all the duties that go with this crucial position.

In particular his efforts and leadership has resulted in more participation at the club, including an emphasis on encouraging more women to join the Committee and play competition tennis.

He’s also managed clubhouse improvements including a new kitchen and new bathrooms and change rooms, working closely with Council on these projects.

Jeff passionately feels that Tennis is not only important for health and fitness, but it also provides players and families with social connectedness which fosters good mental health and friendships.
