Binquan Yan

Binquan is an outstanding example of making the most of every day and every opportunity.

Although in his 80s, Binquan continues to work at the Xin Jin Shan Chinese library every week and leads by example to promote social cohesion and racial harmony between the Chinese and Australian community.

He is an advocate for new migrants from China, helping them settle in their new homes and adapt to their new environment. He is currently working to build connections between Monash and Chinese high schools.

Binquan established the Guangdong General Commerce Chamber in Australia and is renowned in the Monash community for his prudence, humility and patience.
