Active Monash Award
Waverley City Archers
Waverley City Archers has come a long way in the past 34 years. The club now has more than 200 members ranging from 8 to 87 years of age with 25 percent of members female.
Members compete in Club, State, National and International competitions. The club recently hosted the Para and Vision Impaired National Archery Championships, the first time this event has been held in Australia.
It speaks to the heart at the core of this club that it offers programs for people with disabilities, one for people in a wheelchair and another for people with vision impairment.
Both groups work with spotters who retrieve arrows and report scores to the archers.
