Waste management for business
Setting up effective waste management practices can be beneficial for your business.
Understanding how your business manages waste and finding ways to reduce it can lead to:
- cost savings
- increased social impact
- boosted staff engagement.
It also helps reduce your business' ecological footprint, conserves resources and ensures your business is up-to-date with the latest regulations.
Waste audit
Conducting a comprehensive waste audit is a crucial first step in the journey towards effective waste management.
This process helps businesses establish a baseline, identify areas for improvement, and formulate tailored action plans to optimise waste management practices.
Visit the Australian Government's website for a step-by-step guide on conducting a waste audit for your business.
Council may also be able to support your business with a waste audit. To enquire, please contact sustainability@monash.vic.gov.au
Waste education and recycling presentations
Want to learn more about waste separation, recycling and waste reduction, as well as ask your questions directly? Council can offer companies and staff free educational visits or presentations.
If your business uses Council's waste services, we can also provide educational signage for outdoor and indoor bins.
Please email sustainability@monash.vic.gov.au to enquire about educational support and Council resources for your business.
