About the presenter

Desmond John is a Community and Ecosystem Builder in the Australian Startup Economy, running events and tours of the Ecosystem under Vibe Guide Ventures.

With a background of industry engagement at the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with capital raising and running accelerator programs, Desmond now runs startup events, walking tours and community building for clients such as The Startup Network, Wade Institute, Monash Generator, The Commons and Cremorne Digital Hub.  

Once a backpacker, now turned tour guide, Desmond has spent almost 10 years taking Melbourne's visitors around the city he grew up in. He now runs Vibe Guide Ventures along with a small tourism business, Drinking History Tours, to support independent bar owners.
