Smart Networks
An essential component of Smart Monash is the Smart Cities Network - the "brain and nerves" of a Smart City. It connects all the smart devices and sensors together (like a giant internet) and collects real-time data from them.
The Smart Cities Network allows us to analyse information in order to provide more efficient services to residents including:
- Making better informed decisions based on data
- Automate various processes and physical works
- Free up valuable resources so Council staff can focus on other important tasks instead of spending time manually collecting data
The Pilot for Network coverage has been conducted on three different sites in Glen Waverley, Mount Waverley and Clayton.
In the first stage, we will be installing 16 Network Gateways across the City of Monash to establish a robust, scalable and secure infrastructure for Smart Monash.
