Our purpose: We provide financial advice, guidance and tools to our organisation, to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of Council.

The Finance Department is responsible for:

Ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the Council.
Ensuring compliance with relevant Legislations, Regulations and Standards.
Providing meaningful analysis of financial results to enable informed decisions on the allocation of resources.
Ensuring Council’s budget is compiled in accordance with statutory guidelines and the parameters of the Financial Plan.
Providing accurate and timely financial transaction processing, financial information, advice, analysis and systems to achieve Council objectives.
Maximising returns on Council’s financial investments within the parameters set by Council.
Ensuring that financial relationships with ratepayers, customers and suppliers are maintained professionally and accurately.
Accurate maintenance of databases relevant to the Property, Revenue and Valuation services.
The timely and accurate levying of Council’s Rates and Charges Revenue and collection of this revenue.
Management of the payroll function, including taxation and statutory obligations and reporting.
