Capital Works

Our purpose: We are committed to delivering Council's capital works program to ensure well maintained infrastructure assets that meet the current and future needs of our community. We oversee development and certify Council assets that are delivered by third parties.

The Capital Works Department is responsible for the overall delivery of the Capital Works program. This includes:

  • The delivery of civil infrastructure, building and reserve projects.
  • Leading the delivery of Major Capital Works Projects.
  • Key role in the development of Council’s annual and long-term Capital Works Program.
  • Planning and delivery of road and footpath renewal and maintenance programs.
  • Certification of subdivision / major private development construction that create assets that will be handed over to Council once completed (for example, Waverley Park).
  • Administration of contracts undertaken by the City Services Division.
  • Utility Works - coordination of Council asset reinstatement. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • To proactively engage with key stakeholders (Finance, Project Management Office, SAM and ELT) in the development of the Annual, 4-year and a 10-yr Capital Works Program.
  • To develop strong and effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the delivery planning and design of Council's Capital Works Program.
  • To provide a centralised and coordinated approach to the management and delivery of projects.
