WordFest back for 2022 with stellar line-up
Published on 01 June 2022
WordFest, the annual literature festival held by the Monash Public Library Service, is back for 2022 with a fantastic line-up of speakers.
Now in its 26th year, the festival brings readers and writers together for a series of author talks, writing workshops and the Monash Short Story Writing Competition that reflect the theme Wisdom in Words.
The festival will launch on Thursday 16 June with Melbourne-based writer, speaker and feminist thinker, Clementine Ford, and will conclude with a panel of speakers on Thursday 14 July for the Sir John Monash Lecture.
Mayor Stuart James said WordFest is a highly anticipated event each year, bringing together Monash’s unique creative community.
“Monash is home to a diverse and talented community and WordFest aims to connect authors, emerging writers and readers through a shared love of reading and writing,” Cr James said.
“The author talks offer insight into the lives and minds of brilliant writers, while the workshops provide a unique opportunity to learn directly from some of Australia’s finest authors.”
All festival speakers and author talks are free. Bookings are essential and are open now. Workshop tickets are $10.50 and payment can be made at any Monash Library branch within 48 hours of booking.
