Monash Council has not been affected by the forced closure of Melbourne recycling plant SKM.
It is business as usual for recycling in Monash and everyone living or working in the city are encouraged to continue putting out their recycling waste for collection.
Last week the EPA issued a notice stopping SKM from receiving recyclable waste materials at its facilities in Coolaroo and Gilbertson due to a policy breach.
This decision does not impact residents living in Monash. All of our recyclable waste material is sent to Visy and our recycling services remain fully operational.
We encourage everyone living or working in Monash to continue recycling as much waste as they can.
