PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO LEASE LAND
MONASH CITY COUNCIL (“Council”) gives notice under Section 190 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”) of its intention to grant a lease to the following entities for the use of the associated Premises on principal terms and conditions as outlined. A plan of all or the individual Premises can be obtained from Council’s City Development Division by emailing karen.hayes@monash.vic.gov.au
Lease 1 Kerrie Neighbourhood House Inc. Registration No. A0015592L for use of part 36-42 Mackie Road, Mulgrave as described in Certificate of Title Volume 08580 Folio 896
Rent: $1.00 per annum plus GST
Term: 5 years
Rent Reviews: Not applicable
Permitted Use: Activities associated with Neighbourhood Houses based on local community needs
Outgoings: The lessee will be responsible for services and outgoings including utilities relating to the Premises.
Lease 2 Monash Oakleigh Community Support & Information Service Inc. Registration No. A0002446N for use of 25 Downing Street, Oakleigh as described in Certificate of Title Volume 10344 Folio 865
Rent: $1.00 per annum plus GST
Term: 5 years
Rent Reviews: Not applicable
Permitted Use: For purposes connected with provision of community support, emergency relief, advocacy, information and referral services to the local community
Outgoings: The lessee will be responsible for services and outgoings including utilities relating to the Premises.
Lease 3 South East Volunteers Inc. Registration No. A0010411P for use of 5 Myrtle Street, Glen Waverley as described in Certificate of Title Volume 08160 Folio 253
Rent: $1.00 per annum plus GST
Term: 5 years
Rent Reviews: Not applicable
Permitted Use: For activities associated with linking Community Service organisations with prospective volunteers including provision of training and social support.
Outgoings: The lessee will be responsible for services and outgoings including utilities relating to the Premises.
Lease 4 Notting Hill Community Association Inc. Registration No. A0049916G for use of 33-37 Westerfield Drive, Notting Hill as described in Certificate of Title Volume 08360 Folio 624
Rent: $1.00 per annum plus GST
Term: 5 years
Rent Reviews: Not applicable
Permitted Use: For purposes connected with the activities of a Neighbourhood House including meetings, functions, group or individual activities, instructional sessions and educational classes
Outgoings: The lessee will be responsible for services and outgoings including utilities relating to the Premises
A person may make a submission on the proposal. Pursuant to Section 223 of the Act, any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing so that the submission is received no later than 5pm on the 30th day of October 2020.
A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, to be heard in support of the submission before Council (or a committee established by Council for this purpose). If a person wishes to be heard in support of their submission, they must include this request to be heard in their written submission.
All submissions must quote the relevant property address and tenant’s details as a reference and be addressed to:

or be delivered to: Council Offices at 293 Springvale Road Glen Waverley;
or emailed to: mail@monash.vic.gov.au
Hearings will take place at a meeting of the Council or its committee on a date, time and place to be determined by the Council. The Council will give reasonable notice of the meeting date, time and place to each submitter who requests to be heard.
Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
All submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Act. Following consideration of submissions, Council will decide whether to lease the Premises.
