In a first for Monash Council, Active Monash will be hosting its first Pride Night to promote inclusive and accessible physical activity for the LGBTIQA+ community and their friends and family.
The night will see Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre (MARC) in Glen Waverley open its doors to all to celebrate PRIDE! Everyone is invited to come into the centre and experience our facilities in a friendly and inclusive environment.
Pride Night at MARC, on Saturday 10 April from 6pm-10pm, will include a live DJ, an inflatable pool obstacle course, spa and sauna and heaps of classes including aqua, Zumba, yoga and learn to float and the gym will be open and equipment available to try.
Mayor Brian Little said Council had a long commitment to the LGBTIQA+ community and Pride Night was a further example of inclusivity for all in Monash.
“Monash is a community rich in diversity in language, religion and age, as well as sexual diversity, and this gives us a wonderfully interesting and unique community,” Cr Little says.
“We want to provide opportunities like Pride Night so everyone can participate in community life and the facilities we enjoy in Monash.”
Bookings for the night can be made online, in person at Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre or by calling 9265 4888. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance numbers will be in accordance with State Government advice. Entry to Pride Night is FREE.
