Active Monash is proud to once again host Pride Night to promote inclusive and accessible physical activity for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Gender Diverse, Intersex, Queer, Asexual, Plus (LGBTIQA+) community and their allies.

The night will see Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre (MARC) in Glen Waverley open its doors to all to celebrate PRIDE! Everyone is invited to come and experience our facilities in a friendly and inclusive environment.

Pride Night at MARC, on Saturday 30 April from 7pm-10pm, will include:

  • Live DJ
  • Group fitness classes
  • Training tutorials with Active Monash Gym Instructors
  • Learn to float class
  • Lap Club
  • Water safety activities
  • Wave pool beach party
  • Gym access
  • Access to indoor pools
  • Spa and sauna
  • And more.

Mayor Stuart James said Council is committed to providing a safe and social environment where LGBTIQA+ community members can access health and fitness services and Participate Your Way.

“Council is committed to ensuring that all our facilities and services are a place where inclusion, diversity and uniqueness are welcomed, respected and celebrated,” Cr James said.

“Our strength is in our diversity and I’m proud Monash is home to people from all walks of life.”

This year many of the Active Monash team have completed additional LGBTIQA+ training. This has ensured that staff have the awareness to support and grow the ongoing use of Active Monash facilities by the LGBTIQA+ community. We have listened to the valuable feedback of last year’s participants and are looking forward to another successful event.

Bookings for the night can be made online, in person at Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre or by calling 9265 4888. Entry to Pride Night is FREE.
