New tender for Meals on Wheels

Council has awarded the tender for its Meals on Wheels service to Lite N Easy (Victoria) Pty Ltd to provide and deliver up to 1,000 meals weekly to residents using this service.

Monash and Knox councils have undertaken a collaborative tender for this service, saving on costs. The previous contractor to Council for this service, iCook Pty Ltd, was unable to provide meals towards the end of its contract in February 2019 and an alternative provider was required at short notice.

Lite N Easy was engaged by Council to provide an interim service whilst a new tender was put in place. After a tender process, the new three-year contract, which will start on 1 October 2019, was awarded to Lite N Easy.

Residents using the new service can choose from a varied menu and all food is delivered by Council staff and volunteers to residents' homes.
