The adventure playspace in Valley Reserve (Mount Waverley) has won a prestigious national award. In October 2016, the playspace won the Parks and Leisure Australia Award of Excellence for the best playspace in Australia (in the above $500,000 category).
The award recognises outstanding initiatives and innovative efforts which promote and enhance opportunities for leisure time.
Monash Council and Playce Pty Ltd (the contractors who designed the playspace for Council) won the state award in May, which took them into the national final.
The Valley Reserve playspace was recognised as a vibrant all ages play space in a hidden gem of natural bushland and for its SPARC (Socially inclusive, Playful, Active, Relevant and Connected) design.
