We are putting together a story about Air BNB's around the state and had a few questions about them in your council area. We would like to know if:

  1. There is an extra tax on Air BNBs?
  2. If there is, how much is this tax? If there is not, has one been considered?
  3. Has the council voted on introducing an air bnb tax that did not pass?
  4. Are there any upcoming agenda items expected surrounding AirBNBs?

Response

Monash does not have a tax on short-stay accommodation properties, nor are there any plans at this point to introduce one.
