Monash Council welcomes Cr Geoff Lake's continued service

Monash Council welcomes the continued involvement and dedication of Councillor Geoff Lake.

Mayor Micaela Drieberg said Cr Lake had committed yesterday to continuing to serve as a Monash Councillor in light of no longer standing for election as the Labor candidate for the Federal seat of Hotham.

"We're pleased that our Council and our community will continue to benefit from Geoff's experience, intelligence and dedication to community work," Cr Drieberg said.

"Geoff has really worked hard for his community over his 13 years as a Monash Councillor, which is reflected in the huge vote he received in last year's Council elections," she said

"He has also been a strong voice on local community issues at a state level through serving on the board of the Municipal Association of Victoria."

"While Geoff would have been a great advocate for our community at a federal level, I am pleased his skills and care for the community won't be lost to us altogether."
