Council services on Melbourne Cup Day Public Holiday

Some Council services will operate as usual on Melbourne Cup Day Public Holiday while other services will be unavailable.

Waste collection

Household rubbish, recycling and green waste bins will be collected as normal.

Monash Recycling & Waste Centre

The Monash Recycling & Waste Centre will be open.

Council offices

The Civic Centre (Glen Waverley) and the Oakleigh Service Centre will be closed on Melbourne Cup Day. 

Libraries

All local library branches will be closed on Melbourne Cup Day. After hours returns can be made to all branches, including Mulgrave.

Aquatic and Recreation Centres

The Clayton Aquatics and Health Club (CAHC), Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC), and Oakleigh Recreation Centre (ORC) will be open, with reduced hours and classes.
