Advocacy in lead-up to State Election
Published on 31 August 2022
Council is the government closest to the people it serves and every day we make decisions to support our community and enrich their lives.
Our Community Plan, outlines our priorities for Monash up to 2040.
To achieve these goals, we need to work with and influence all levels of government to deliver lasting and positive change. As a local Council, we can only do so much.
There are many opportunities to enable current and future generations to enjoy more fulfilling work and lifestyle experiences, but we need other levels of government to support this by providing the infrastructure and services our community needs.
That’s why advocacy is so important – it’s how we communicate our needs and seek action from politicians, government departments and other stakeholders. We do this through direct lobbying, constructive submissions to government, community consultation and coordinated public campaigns.
