Elisha is the Councillor for the Jells Ward for the period 2024-2028.
Elisha Lee is a proud Korean-Australian and Monash’s first Korean-Australian Councillor and Victoria’s first ever Korean-Australian elect. Growing up as a Monash resident, Elisha has a deep-rooted commitment to her community.
As a passionate social policy expert and an admitted lawyer, Elisha has a robust background in providing strategic policy advice on housing affordability, education reforms, transport and health industrial issues as well as advising on budget initiatives. Her roles across social policy, intergovernmental relations and economic policy in the public sector equip her with a deep understanding of effective implementation of policies and programs, and equitable governance.
A long-time Monash resident, Elisha is committed to promoting inclusivity, fostering social justice and ensuring economically sound management of Council affairs. She is dedicated to maximising value for residents by focusing on efficient, cost-effective delivery of Council services, while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Elisha’s involvement in Monash Council’s Multicultural Advisory Committee, along with her selection for the University of Melbourne’s Pathways to Politics for Women and the VPS Women of Colour Leadership Program, reflects her commitment to amplifying diverse voices. She envisions a Monash Council that represents its rich tapestry of cultures and creates a safe community for all residents. Through her role, she aims to champion policies that drive inclusivity and enhance Monash’s thriving community.
Elisha is dedicated to enhancing the safety and well-being of Monash residents. She aims to work closely with local authorities and residents to understand and prevent crimes, and prioritise improving road conditions and traffic safety. She understands the importance of supporting local community groups, from sport and cultural organisations to positive ageing groups, to strengthen social connection and foster an active and engaged community. Elisha believes these efforts are essential for building a vibrant, secure and supportive Monash for residents of all ages and backgrounds.
