What a Neighbourhood House or Learning Centre can offer you?

Activities and classes, and in some cases child care, are offered on a community demand basis. Houses provide a supportive and friendly focal point in our community where people can come together to share a mutual interest, learn new skills and to generally support one another.

Houses are community managed and non-profit, making the cost of classes and child care very reasonable. Houses rely on community input in the way of suggestions, comments and volunteers to assist in their operations.

Access and facilities for the disabled are available.

Some of the Neighbourhood Houses provide childcare* while you attend a class, group or activity, or have some time for yourself.

Childcare fees are normally low with discounts often available.

Child care services at Neighbourhood Houses are Licensed Child Care facilities and acknowledge the support of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
