Let's All Play
Young people from newly arrived migrant and refugee communities are encouraged to participate in sport within the City of Monash in a new program called 'Let's All Play'.
You Tube video clip - Run, K!ck Play Day:The program assists youths to participate in sport through grant money which funds membership fees, uniforms, equipment and transport costs. The program involves 16 local clubs from a range of sports including basketball, athletics, soccer, cricket, softball, hockey, netball and Australian Rules football.
As part of the program, the Centre for Multicultural Youth facilitated leadership training to 20 young people from Wellington Secondary College and South Oakleigh Secondary College. There are a total of 26 grant recipients for the 2012 Winter Sports season.
The partner project is funded by the City of Monash, Sports Without Borders and the Pinewood Community Bendigo Bank.
