Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2010 - 2013

Monash Public Health and Wellbeing Plan

The Monash Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPH&WP) 2010-2013 identifies the health and wellbeing needs of the Monash community and establishes Council's priorities and strategies for the next four years.

It provides a framework for an integrated and collaborative approach that will support and enhance the community's ability to lead healthy, productive and rewarding lives.

The MPH&WP 2010-2013 builds on the work of the previous Public Health Plan 2007-2010 by taking a more holistic approach, integrating with other Council activities that promote health and wellbeing.

The MPH&WP aligns with the Victorian Environments for Health framework, which acknowledges that a range of factors in the built, social, economic and natural environments contribute to people's health and wellbeing.

The development of the MPH&WP involved a process of consultation, research, priority and action planning.

Over 1,150 stakeholders and Monash residents contributed to the development of the plan by identifying local health and wellbeing priorities, as well as ways that Council and other stakeholders can support these priorities.

The MPH&WP identifies the health status of the Monash community, highlights local health issues, and involves all Council departments and relevant stakeholders in an action plan.
