Wordfest 2012

Word Fest logo

The celebration of reading, writing and literature is on again with Monash's annual literature festival WordFest 2012.

Residents will also have the opportunity to workshop their writing skills, get lost in numerous stories, find out why comics are for grownups, and discover what it was like to have a dinner party with Jane Austen.

Need help with your homework? Need a place to work with fewer distractions? Join the Clayton Homework Club. Volunteers are available to encourage and support you with your homework, during term time, at Clayton Library.

AUSLAN, Chinese, Greek and Italian Storytimes 2012

Chinese Storytime (in Mandarin) at Mount Waverley. 3rd Thursday of the month at 10.30am except for school holidays. Thursdays: 24 May, 21 Jun, 19 Jul, 23 Aug, 20 Sep,18 Oct and 15 Nov. Not run in school holidays. Sessions run for 45 minutes. No booking required.

Chinese Storytime (in Mandarin) at Clayton. 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 1.15pm except for school holidays. Mondays: 7 and 21 May, 6 and 20 June. Not run in school holidays. Sessions run for 45 minutes. No booking required.

Greek Storytime at Oakleigh. The sessions run the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month except for school holidays. 10.30 am. Sessions run for 45 minutes. No booking required.

Italian Storytime at Clayton with Anne Marie Messina. Sessions at 10.30 am on Wednesdays: 2 May, 16 May, 6 and 20 June.

Blast Off! 2012

A fun, free monthly story and craft activity for primary school children aged 5-12. Four branches host Blast Off ! at 4 pm on a selected day in school terms, as listed below.

  • Clayton - 4th Tuesday: Apr 24, May 22, Jun 26, Jul 24, Aug 28, Oct 23, Nov 27.
  • Glen Waverley - 1st Monday: May 7, Jun 4, Aug 6, Sep 3, and Nov 5.
  • Mount Waverley - 2nd Thursday : May 10, Jun 14, Aug 9, Sep 13, Oct 11, and Nov 8.
  • Wheelers Hill - 3rd Thursday: Apr 19, May 17, Jun 21, Jul 19, Aug 16, Sep 20, Oct 18, and Nov 15

Sessions run for 1 hour. Not run in school holidays.
