Monash Council delivers a vibrant annual calendar of community festivals and events that celebrates our diversity, brings the community together and showcases our great City.

Council is presenting an exciting opportunity to partner with local businesses and organisations that share our enthusiasm for the municipality's good news events and that will help us to achieve our objectives. A range of sponsorship packages is available that we can tailor a package to suit your needs.

2010 Chinese New Year & Lantern Festival

Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival

Make your own traditional Chinese lantern and join the crowd in celebrating the Year of the Tiger as the 2010 Chinese New Year & Lantern Festival lights up Glen Waverley's Kingsway Precinct.

The second annual Chinese New Year & Lantern Festival will be held on Sunday, 28 February from 11am - 8pm and will feature lantern making, free games and activities for children, a Chinese Cultural Show and a full program of free entertainment.

Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival

The internationally famed Khuan Yee Lion Dancers will return to the festival to present their award winning Lion Dance, which is performed on top of 1.8m poles and proved to be a favourite attraction last year.

The festival will feature food and trade stalls, Chinese arts and crafts, games, rock climbing, a main stage at Coleman Parade, a children's area in the forecourt of the Glen Waverley Public Library and 'Carnival Alley' in Montclair Avenue.

Spoil your senses in Oakleigh next weekend with a delicious variety of activities and entertainment at Warrawee Park.

Whet your appetite with Antipodes in the Park on the evening of Saturday 20 March from 6:00pm.

A beautifully crafted musical concert of classic traditional Greek folk songs, performed by some of Melbourne's finest musicians and singers.

Come back to Warrawee Park for the main course on Sunday 21 March for Flavours of Oakleigh a celebration of diversity through food, music and cultural performances.

Come and join in the fun at the Mulgrave Fun Day. Mulgrave Fun Day welcomes back Paul Jamieson and Bongo the Cheeky Monkey! Dance up a storm with their toe-tapping music!

There is a lot to see and do. Start with getting your face painted at the Hall and Partners First National Face Painting Marquee and then make your own Crazy Hat!

Once you are set then paint your own Master Piece, learn some Bollywood dance moves, be a human chess piece, listen to a story, play a computer game and try out the amusement rides.

If you are still wondering what else there is then pat a wombat! Learn about Australia's wildlife with the Wild Action Show and see and pat our native Bush Baby Animals at the Animals on the Move Marquee.

Grab a bite to eat and get to know your community and the activities on offer inside the Mulgrave Neighbourhood House. This fantastic facility is open all day and will be running a variety of activities many of which are mentioned above.

Valanga Khoza and Thriller Dance Workshop

To be inspired by the beautiful stories of Valanga Khoza you must reserve your place. This session is only open to 30 participants.

Thriller Dance Workshop and Show has a limited booking number of 15 participants only. So, if you would like to learn Michael Jackson's Thriller Dance moves then call to reserve your place in this fantastic dance experience.

Suitable only for children 5-13 years of age.
