The City of Monash offers a number of benefits and amenities aimed at enhancing staff satisfaction and enjoyment during working hours and beyond.
Benefits
The following benefits and arrangements are available to all staff:- Discounted Gym Memberships
- The City of Monash employees receive a discounted membership rate enabling them to take advantage of any of the three Aquatic and Leisure facilities - Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Clayton Aquatic and Health Club and Oakleigh Recreation Centre.
- Learning and Development
- Employees enjoy a wide range of in-house corporate training opportunities in diverse areas such as the diploma of management, effective customer service, disability awareness, conflict resolution and a variety of others which are open to all staff.
- Leave Entitlements
- A variety of leave entitlements are available to eligible staff. These include: annual leave; sick leave; long service leave; maternity/adoption leave; paternity leave; bereavement/compassionate leave; carer's leave; and study leave.
- Active Social Club
- The active social clubs run many events throughout the year including Friday night drinks, Themed nights, and an annual End of year function.
- Refreshments
- In most work locations Council provides tea, coffee and basic refreshment for use by staff. A number of drink and food vending machines are also located at the Civic Centre.
- Communication
- A number of internal information bulletins are regulary forwarded to staff. These bulletins include information on Career News, Best Value and all important events happening in our community.
- Corporate library
- Service provided by our library branches - type of a 'virtual library'. It has no one single location or room. Information might be sourced not only from the physical collections of books, but from electronic databases, online services and other professional networks such as Inter-library loan agreements.
