Why not come along and be part of Australia's largest community driven environmental event, Clean Up Australia Day?

Council is a keen participant in the Clean up Australia Day program and provides facilities across several sites to assist groups participate in this annual program.

The Clean up Australia Day is held on the first Sunday in March.

Thank you for volunteering on Clean Up Australia Day 2012.

Safety Information

You must complete the official volunteer registration form and hand it to your Site Coordinator. These will be available onsite, from the Site Coordinator.

  • No person is permitted to participate unless registered.
  • All children 14 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Some items to be cleaned up may be hazardous (eg. Building materials, asbestos, chemicals). Do not handle any items that you are unsure of - inform your Site Coordinator.
  • Some clean up areas may be potentially dangerous (eg. roadsides, cliff edges and riverbanks). Please make sure you take adequate precautions to ensure your own safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Some clean up areas may contain hidden dangers (eg. venomous snakes and spiders). Please act with due caution.
  • Do not handle syringes. If you find a syringe, please inform your Site Coordinator immediately.
  • Sturdy enclosed footwear, gloves and protective equipment must be worn (ie. Hat, Sunglasses/eye protection, sunscreen and long sleeves).
  • Please ensure that you bring some water to stay well hydrated.
